This event is an excellent opportunity for schools to earn extra money by hosting a bookfair that weekend.  All they need to do is promote the event by passing out flyers/vouchers to their students. When students come into the events and shop they present the voucher at the cash wrap.  A percentage of the sales goes back to the school.  You may want to consider a Borough Wide Bookfair with the earning going back to your office.  You could then distribute the giftcards amongst your schools. Either way it’s an excellent opportunity.

Alan November's Future Ready Learning Workshop.

You are invited to attend Alan November’s Future Ready Learning Workshop.

We, as leaders, continually strive to challenge and inspire administrators to think beyond the classroom and prepare students for today’s global marketplace. We believe that it is not the technology itself that’s important to learning; instead, it’s the way we use it. The ideas about global communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking have inspired schools, governments and corporations around the world to rethink and redefine their approach to education and technology. Are you ready for change?
Listen and learn as Alan November outlines essential skills for leadership and offer both practical guidelines and creative solutions for building accountability into the planning and implementation process.  Articulating vision and mission, managing change, and aligning technology to primary curricular goals are emphasized. We will explore the “leader as a role model” concept and look at various professional development opportunities, such as joining a global professional community: creating a new culture of teaching and learning.
Date: May 10, 2016
Location:  Susan E. Wagner High School, 1200 Manor Rd, Staten Island NY 10314
Time: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
